Faculty Development Centre (FDC) has been established in Mizoram University in the academic year 2018-19 under Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT); which is a Central Scheme with all India coverage according to XII Plan. The scheme provides resources and services to support the mission, vision and values for the capacity building of the faculty members. It has a vision to promote institutional effectiveness through personal, organizational and professional growth of School Teachers and Faculty Members of Higher Education Institute. It has a mission to promote organizational strategies for the capacity building of the school teachers focusing on improvement in teaching performance, learning outcomes, new dimensions of thinking and all-round skills etc. It plays an important role to groom the school teachers starting from elementary to +2 level for quality teaching-learning process. The professional development activities are most effective in preparing them to teach with versatile methods. The FDC will conduct induction programme for newly recruited teachers of Higher Education.
